Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center
The Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center is composed of two stations, one in Union and the other in Burns. EOARC is set up to conduct research in sustainable beef cattle production.
The Union station was opened in 1901 and is the oldest branch agricultural experiment station in Oregon. It is located in northeastern Oregon in the Blue Mountains ecological province. The vegetation is mixed conifer and grasslands. There are currently 3 research scientists located there.
The Burns station is operated in cooperation with the USDA Agricultural Research Service. It is located in southeastern Oregon in the Oregon High Desert. The vegetation is primarily sagebrush-grassland and juniper. There are currently 2 OSU scientists and 8 ARS scientists located there.
